Ball State men’s UF team finished pool play by beating both No. 7 and No. 2 seeded teams in the tournament and advanced to the Quarterfinals of the 2018 Music City Tune-Up. The team placed second in Pool B with a record of 3-1.
In the first game, the Wizardz came out strong and beat Vanderbilt, 9-7. Armada was the No. 7 seeded team in the tournament while the Wizardz were No. 18.
From the first game, the Wizardz never looked back and continued its winning ways. They beat Middle Tennesse State, 10-6. Then, Ball State took a commanding 5-1 lead against Alabama-Huntsville. The final score against UAH was 9-7.
Then, the wheels fell off and the Wizardz found themselves in a tough game with Xavier. Xavier managed to beat the Wizardz, 12-7. Blob won Pool B while the Wizardz finished in second place.
Other Eastern Plains Conference opponents in the top three of their pools. Purdue in Pool A and Kentucky in Pool D, both managed to claim second place, while Southern Indiana was third in Pool A.
The Wizardz will play on Vanderbilt’s Recreational fields at 9 a.m. against Samford.
