TUSCALOOSA, ALA. – Ball State men’s ultimate frisbee team went 2-1 in pool play at the Alabama Tournament. The Wizardz lost the crossover game against Harding University. The team will play in the ninth place bracket.
In the first game against Southern Mississippi, the Wizardz won against Southern Mississippi, 8-4. Team captain Nik Risser lead the team with three goals, while team captain Garrett Fuelling had three assists. In the game, the Wizardz had 17 drops. On defense, junior Dylan Carnes and Freshman Joe Overton tied with two Defensive stops in the game.
In the next game, the Wizards beat Kennesaw State by the final score 11-10. Freshman Justin Hess lead the team in defense with four D’s.
The final pool game was against host Alabama. The Wizardz lost 13-1. During the game, the team faced 10 miles per hour winds, during the game against Alabama.
The crossover game was against Harding. Leading with two goals was Fuelling. On defense, Risser had two D’s. The team lost 9-8.
The first game tomorrow is against Louisiana State University (B). The game starts at 9 a.m.
