For the 39 seniors on the Rebels roster, their season ends here. Head coach Scott Marsh is proud of his departing players despite a down year.
“The seniors have been part of a state championship team as sophomores,” Marsh said. “A really good team last year that lost on this field. This year, this group went through a lot that people on the outside don’t even know.”
One of the seniors that stood out was Lockhard.
“Andrew is just a tremendous player,” Marsh said. “He’s going to make a college very happy.”
The Fighting Irish move onto the sectional final at Decatur Central next Friday.
