Indianapolis AlleyCats finish AUDL regular season at home

The American Ultimate Disc League season came to an end on Saturday. Indianapolis AlleyCats finish the regular season with a win against Minnesota Wind Chill, 26-16.

The game started out as a “they score, we score” game. At the beginning of the game, the AlleyCats took six minutes to tie the game up at 1. After Wind Chill made a throwaway, the AlleyCats scored, making it 2-1. AlleyCats ended the first quarter with the lead, 4-2.

The second quarter started the same as the first. The rest of the second quarter was a back-and-forth game. At the end of the second, AlleyCats led 10-8.

The AlleyCats began the third quarter scoring two goals. Both of these goals were scored on Wind Chill throwaways. Later in the quarter, the AlleyCats made two throwaways, which led to two goals for Minnesota. AlleyCats led 17-12 at the end of the third quarter.

In the final quarter, the AlleyCats scored nine goals, while Wind Chill scored four. At one time in the fourth quarter, the AlleyCats scored three straight times. In the game, the AlleyCats only scored two goals in a row more times then three goals.

AlleyCats (11-3) and Wind Chill (8-6) face off in the first round of the AUDL Midwest Divisional rounds at 7 p.m. on July 21 at Westfield High School. The winner faces off against Madison Radicals on July 28 at Madison, Wisconsin.
